Program description: Join us for a three part series and learn about resources and tools that help you plan and problem solve for the life you want for the people you love and support. We will learn about tools, have the opportunity to have hands on practice, and identify how to use them to support and empower people and families. The tools can be used with everyone across the lifespan.
Guest speaker: Barbara Sapharas is an Independent Consultant working with the Family Resource Network of Ohio at the Nisonger Center to share information about Charting the LifeCourse. Barb has worked in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) for over 49 years in a variety of settings, including schools and day programs, in various roles, including Speech Language Pathologist, Service Coordinator (SSA), and Staff Developer. She has focused on empowering and supporting people with disabilities and families, driven by her experience as a sibling. She is a Mentor Trainer in the Learning Community for Person-Centered Practices. She works with the National Team (Nexus) of Charting the LifeCourse at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, providing training and coaching nationally. Barb was a founding member of Ohio SIBS and the Sibling Leadership Network.
