Program description: Participants will be provided with information designed to prepare families for the change that takes place as their child leaves early intervention services for preschool services, upon turning three years of age. The session will provide an overview of the differences between early intervention and preschool services; information about transition planning, timelines, and the evaluation process; and tips to help families have a smooth transition.
Guest speaker: Sandy Brickner is the Statewide Preschool Program Coordinator, Information Specialist, and Statewide Trainer with the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities (OCECD). Over the past 20 years with OCECD, she has provided resources, information, technical assistance, and statewide training for students, families, parent mentors, and other professionals. Her involvement in the educational field started much earlier when she served children and their families as an Early Childhood Educator.
