Fall 2024 ECHO on Children with Complex Needs and Sensory Disabilities
The Ohio Center for Deafblind Education (OCDBE) and the Ohio Deaf and Blind Education Services (ODBES) have partnered with Project ECHO® (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes), a virtual community dedicated to disseminating and implementing best practices. Our goal is to address and support the diverse needs of students facing sensory disabilities and other complex challenges, including those who are deaf/hard of hearing, blind/visually impaired, and deafblind in Ohio.
We are excited to announce the launch of our ECHO on Children with Complex Needs and Sensory Disabilities on September 23, 2024. This initiative will feature monthly virtual sessions that provide training and consultative feedback on student cases. For more details, please see the attached flyer.

What is Project ECHO™
Project ECHO™ is an inter-professionalpractice network where education andrelated services professionals learntogether through short, informationalpresentations on meeting the needs ofstudents with complex needs, includingsensory disabilities, and case-specificpresentations. Case presentations allowparticipants to support a colleaguethrough real-time problem solving, andthe identification of possible strategiesand solutions to support the individualsthey serve.
Fall 2024 Dates
- Monday, September 23 – Functional Vision Assessment
- Monday October 21 – Functional Listening Assessment
- Monday, November 18 – Early Language and Communication through Play
