My Child, My Connection 3-Part Virtual Learning Series, Session 3

Speaker: Lyn Ayer, PhD and Linda Bass-Johnoff, MEd.

This year’s My Child, My Connection series is a continuation of the 2020 series that described early intervention measures to enhance the sensory system of a child who is deafblind and may have additional challenges. In 2020, Sessions 1, 2, and 3 focused on the contact senses of touch, taste, and smell; and the power senses of proprioception and vestibular. Recordings of the 2020 My Child, My Connection sessions are available on the OCDBE website at

This year, Sessions 4, 5, and 6 of the 3-part virtual learning series, My Child, My Connection, focus on residual hearing and vision, multi-sensory strategies to foster relationships and active learning, and multi-sensory experiences to enhance and encourage early literacy. A description of each session, dates, and times are provided below. Please note: Session 6 includes an additional half hour in order to share materials and provide time for discussion.

Participants may register for one or more sessions. Participation in this year’s sessions is open to all interested persons; participation in the 2020 sessions is not required. Contact hours are available to participants who complete the session evaluation. Closed captioning and sign language are available upon request.
