Scholarships
OCDBE offers parents of a child who is registered on the Ohio Deafblind Census the opportunity to support and increase their knowledge about deafblindness, acquire information related to their child’s needs, and develop skills to use when working with their child through the Parent Scholarship Program.
Parent Scholarship Program
Opportunities, such as conferences, trainings, and workshops, are frequently offered by state and national organizations on topics of interest to parents of children with deafblindness. To offset some of the expenses associated with attending these events, OCDBE offers a limited number of parent scholarships each year on a first come-first serve basis to parents that request assistance. If a parent is interested in applying for a scholarship, the Scholarship Request Form must be completed and approved prior to attending the event. After OCDBE reviews the application, the parent is contacted regarding the scholarship request. Parents who receive scholarships are required to submit receipts documenting reimbursable costs and may be asked to share their experience with others.
